On February the 2nd, Dutch cameraman/director Thomas Poederbach held a Keynote-presentation about making professional movies with DSLR-cameras on a event organised by the European Broadcasting Union.

DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) is much more affordable and smaller than the professional videocamcorders and the quality is often almost as good as 35mm film. Check out the Afghan war documentary Battle for Hearts and Minds, shot by Danfung Dennis with a Canon 5D MK2. Making movies with DSLR instead of using RED or HDcam cameras is hot these days!

Europe Audio/Video Rent provided Thomas with a new 17 Macbook Pro because of all the heavy video- and photofootage that was included in his presentation.
