Protools HD: Junkie XL

Protools-gear for Junkie XL performance

Europe Audio/Video Rent BV provided Dutch TV-show 'De Wereld Draait Door' with a Protools HD-set on March the 20st. During the show Junkie XL will do a little demo, in which he shows how to record a remix for Madonna, and talk about his work.

Junkie XL (Tom Holkenborg) made his big breakthrough with a remix of the late Elvis Presley's moderately successful 1968 single A Little Less Conversation for a 2002 Nike World Cup Commercial. Holkenborg is known as a talented remixer, drawing critical acclaim with remixes of tracks by Britney Spears, Coldplay, Justin Timberlake, Scissor Sisters, Rammstein, the aforementioned Fear Factory, Bloc Party, Sarah McLachlan and Avril Lavigne. With an unrivaled work ethic, which routinely includes fourteen-hour days in his studio, Holkenborg keeps extremely busy creating the music for video games.

To make it look more real DWDD decided to build a small studio for Junkie XL. EAVR not only provided the TV-show with a Protools-set but also a Mackie Big Knob studio-controller, PSI-monitoring and a Focusrite 428 preamp/DI.
